I already mentioned the waterbed leak. Today we finally had it totally dried out. We still need to get another tube for it, but that will have to wait until some money comes in.
My transmission took a dump a week ago Saturday, so I've been without my car for over a week. I have absolutely no money, so I can't get it fixed. I was told by the financial aid lady that I would have some extra loan money left over after tuition for this term, but that was three weeks ago and I haven't seen a check yet. I was planning on using that money to start my embroidery business. *sigh* I guess that I'll have to find another way to raise the funds for that.
I can't deliver pizzas without a car, so I'm more broke than usual. I have a sum total of $8 to my name. The stupid manager at work knows the walk-in cooler is not functioning correctly and the dough is blowing, but his stupid ego won't allow him to call a repairman. Ass. I haven't been able to take a day off since I came back after my thumb incident. The owner is enacting some really asinine policies lately, and I can't deal with all that. I'm pretty sure that my driving days are over. The sales have dropped during the dinner rush, so I wouldn't have made any money had I been able to drive, anyway.
I did take my stitches out by myself, though. It's healing a little funny, but hopefully it will be okay. I still have to wear gloves at work. The first couple of days I wore the latex ones at work and I had a major allergic reaction to them. I think they contributed to the cut getting infected and that may be why it's healing weird. Anyway, I got some vinyl ones and my hand likes them much better.
Wednesday the entire drain system in our house backed up--while I was in the shower. I realized the shower was ready to overflow while I had a head full of conditioner. Of course we couldn't afford to have a plumber come out to snake the drains ($125 min), so between the bottle of Draino and lots of plunging by Marcus, I got to finish showering a couple of hours later. When Marcus went to check under the house to see if water was backing up under there (to find out of the blockage was the park's fault or ours), I found that wasps had built a nest inside the back door. I'd never seen a nest like this before. Turns out they're made by a relatively new kind of wasp in Colorado called a paper wasp. I'll make a post tomorrow about what I learned about them and post a couple of pictures of the nests. Marcus reminded me that it is the same kind of wasp that I
stepped on a little while back in the house. I had totally blocked that incident out.
I almost lost my wireless keyboard. I was stupidly holding a glass of soda in the hand where I cut my thumb and I just let got of the dang thing into my keyboard. Fortunatley, I got it all cleaned out and, after having to take Dad's keyboard apart to remember how it went back together, it is working fine (except for the occasional sticking key).
President Reagan died last Saturday. I spent most of the week following that and I cried alot during the many ceremonies. I'll post more my feelings on all of that later. Then Ray Charles died on Thursday. This week just sucked.
The neighbor's dog still barks. I want to kill that thing. I also want to kill every cat in this damn park.
I skipped school last Wednesday and now I'm behind and I really don't care. I only have to wait 4 more weeks until our two week summer break. I hope I make it that far. Math class on Tuesday was another huge waste of time. We were to take the midterm. The class starts at 8:00 am. The teacher arrived at 8:20. Then the teacher told us why he was tired and took us all to Peaberry's for coffee. We got back at 9:00, but he didn't think there would be time to take the test before the teachers went on their half-hour break at 9:30, so he did magic tricks. Class finally resumed around 10:15 or so and we took the test. Too easy--I got 100%. The teacher and another student started discussing movies. Then the teacher realized he forgot to give us part of the test and then we took that. More BSing and he realized it's noon and class is over. ARGH!!! He assignes the chapter he was supposed to teach to be read as homework. Man, I'm sure glad I wasted that four hours of my life.
Well, I guess that's enough for now. I'm sure there was more, I'm just too tired to remember it all. I've got to get to bed. Dad'll be here at 7:00 am to take me to school.
